FAQ.

How much does therapy cost, and do you accept insurance?

My current rate for a 50-minute psychotherapy session is $130. The full fee is due at time of service via credit card through IVY pay for clients who are paying out-of-pocket or using out-of-network insurance benefits, including those who are being provided a superbill.

I do not accept insurance at this time, however, I can provide a superbill which can be submitted to your insurance company. Clients who pay out-of-pocket for therapy can expect their insurance provider to reimburse them a percentage of my standard rate depending on their specific out-of-network benefits. Feel free to ask me more about this out-of-network reimbursement process or reach out to your insurance company directly. Clients who are submitting superbills to their insurance company do need to pay the full fee at time of services.

Are you offering in-person sessions?

I am currently offering telehealth sessions. Research shows patients are increasingly using telehealth services and studies show mental health care delivered remotely can be as effective as meeting in person. Patients have also communicated ease of showing to appointments and ease of online platforms.

How frequently should I come in?

Weekly sessions are ideal for most clients, particularly if a client is experiences times of distress which is inhibiting parts of their lives. Weekly sessions can be beneficial to maintain progress from session-to-session and is especially useful at the beginning, when I am still learning about you, what goals you’d like to reach and how I can support you through the process. Transitioning to biweekly visits (every other week) can be appropriate for clients who are seeing improvement after the initial period of therapy. A biweekly schedule can also make sense for individuals with busy, challenging schedules. Meeting monthly or less frequently is not recommended, as it can be more difficult to follow up on goals and change treatment as needed.

How do we get started?

The effectiveness of therapy often has to do with a good fit between client and therapist. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so that you and I can explore if we might be a good fit for one another. Feel free to reach out via the contact us page to schedule a time for us to talk by phone so that we can talk about you, your goals, and how I could support you.
